IAQ is a project partner in the Next Generation Engagement Project. Lead by the University of Melbourne’s School of Governance, this project is critical in understanding and addressing community and social challenges, now, and into the future.
The Next Generation Project presents significant opportunities to help identify the top community and social challenges for the infrastructure industry and research sector, to develop solutions through applied research with industry. It aims to identify and address the knowledge gaps in engagement, social risk management and social licence and in doing so to:
- Build understanding of best practice to improve community and environmental outcomes from major infrastructure delivery
- Deliver the tools and evidence base to improve decision making and project outcomes, and
- Support the professionalization of engagement as a discipline.
The partnership between the IAQ and the University of Melbourne will play a vital role in collaboratively understanding industry challenges, and converging interdisciplinary perspective to this research.
