The Treasurer will be our guest speaker at a breakfast on Tuesday 4 August. With the budget being announced on Tuesday 14 July, this will be a very timely event to discuss the budget’s impact on your business, the infrastructure sector and the State. Other discussion points include:
- The state of State and Federal relations
- Private finance and privately financed infrastructure and how these might work in Queensland
- Federally funded infrastructure projects in Queensland including Inland Rail
Meet the breakfast speaker:
Mr Curtis Pitt MP was first elected to Queensland’s Parliament in 2009 as the Member for Mulgrave and has served as the Minister for Disability Services, Mental Health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships from 2011-12.
Prior to becoming Treasurer, Mr Pitt was the Shadow Minister for Treasury and Trade, Energy and Water Supply, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. He was also the Leader of Opposition Business.
Away from Parliament, Mr Pitt is a member of the Mission Australia’s Southern Corridor Family Support Standing Committee (Communities for Children initiative) and the Far North Queensland Regional Planning Committee. He has been an Auxiliary Firefighter with the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, and is currently a member of the Edmonton Lions Club and the Gordonvale RSL Citizens’ Auxiliary.
