The Queen’s Wharf redevelopment is regarded by many as the most significant new place-making project in the Brisbane CBD. It is forecast to provide significant economic benefits for Queensland including job creation and increased tourism levels. These include:
- Investments in improved transport and connectivity solutions for the City of Brisbane
- Creation of more than 8000+ jobs in Queensland once Queen’s Wharf is operational
- Creation of more than 2000 jobs during construction
- $1.69 billion annual increase in tourism
- $1.39 million additional tourists per annum
- $4 billion to Gross State Product
The Echo Entertainment Group is part of the Destination Brisbane Consortium, the preferred bidders selected by the Queensland government for the redevelopment of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.

Meet the speakers:
Geoff Hogg, Qld Managing Director Echo Entertainment
Geoff Hogg has 20 years of operational casino experience at a senior executive level. Geoff has been Managing Director of Treasury Casino & Hotel Brisbane since May 2008, Managing Director of Jupiters Townsville Hotel & Casino since August 2012, and in May 2014 Geoff was appointed Managing Director of Jupiters Hotel & Casino Gold Coast.
Prior to commencing with Echo Entertainment Group, Geoff worked with the SKYCITY Entertainment Group for more than 13 years in a number of senior management roles across their New Zealand properties.
Geoff is an active participant in the Queensland business community and in particular, the tourism and entertainment industry. He currently chairs the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and is the Treasurer of Casinos and Resorts Australasia.
Before entering Parliament as the Member for the Brisbane seat of Stafford in 2014, Dr Lynham worked as a maxillofacial surgeon. Dr Lynham is an Adjunct Professor at QUT and an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland (UQ) School of Medicine. Upon his election in July 2014, he served as the Shadow Minister for Education, Innovation, Science and Information Technology, Shadow Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries, and shadow spokesman for the public service assisting the Leader.
Dr Lynham graduated in medicine from the University of Newcastle and completed his maxillofacial surgery training in Queensland. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He worked most of his medical career at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital and is part of a research team at Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Lynham also served in the Australian Army.
As a surgeon who continuously dealt with the aftermath of violence, including domestic violence, Dr Lynham is a passionate opponent of all forms of violence. Before entering Parliament, Dr Lynham was a prominent advocate of policies to minimise alcohol-fuelled violence. He is also a White Ribbon ambassador.
