Now gaining momentum after a successful business case, the Brisbane Metro is fast approaching another important milestone.

Our guest speaker is Deputy Mayor, Councillor Adrian Schrinner, Chairman of the Public and Active Transport Committee, Brisbane City Council.. Cr Schrinner will announce the next stage of Council’s signature project, providing members with updates on consultation, approvals and market participation.

An expert panel will join Cr Schrinner for a panel discussion and explore how it will change the face of Brisbane Transport.

Cr Adrian Schrinner, Deputy Mayor, Brisbane City Council
Adrian Schrinner is the Deputy Mayor of Brisbane and the Chairman of the City’s Public and Active Transport Committee with special responsibility for Brisbane Metro. He has served as the local Councillor for the Ward of Chandler in Brisbane’s south eastern suburbs since 2005.  Prior to the Election Cr Schrinner served as the Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee, Adrian was responsible for overseeing the management of more than $9 billion in city assets, including 5,700km of roads, 900 sets of traffic signals, more than 500 bridges and 2,000 culverts. He has also overseen many major projects, such as the successful completion of the $1.5 billion Legacy Way Tunnel.  He lives in the suburb of Carindale with his wife Nina and their four young children, Octavia, Wolfgang, Monash and Petra. 



Peter Hain, Market Leader (Sth Qld) and Market Leader – Energy & Resources, GHD
Peter is a Board Member of IAQ and a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in the infrastructure sector.

For the last 16 years, he has been a consultant at GHD and is now GHD’s Market Leader in South East Queensland. He provides project delivery leadership and strategic advice across all sectors of the economy.




Scott Stewart, Divisional Manager, Brisbane Infrastructure, Brisbane City Council
As Divisional Manager, Brisbane Infrastructure, Scott Stewart’s leadership brings together Council’s asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance, waste and resource recovery, and transport planning and operations.

Scott joined Council in 2005 and has been a member of the Executive Management Team since 2006.

Prior to this he worked with international consultancy, Arup, in Australia and overseas.

Scott has more than 28 years of infrastructure and executive experience, across local and international roles in the private and public sectors. Experience includes major road, rail and urban infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia.

Through his roles in Council, Scott has fulfilled key leadership roles for the development and delivery of Council’s major infrastructure projects including Brisbane Metro and the TransApex program, including the Go Between Bridge and Legacy Way toll roads.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours, UQ) and Master of Engineering Science (Project Management, UNSW). He is also a Chartered Engineer, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the INSEAD Advanced Management Program (France).
